Finally recording

I've used Garage Band for 2 days now. Amazing how easy it is to make a piece of sound with this software. Anyway, that means that I should be able to share with you some chunks of what I play on the piano, pretty soon...

Spreading my spikes

My internship is getting close to an end and I wish I return soon there. I don't think I will make it for my first job though. And I'd like to see the other countries as well. For sure I will get to Paris first, so many opportunities, and see how I can mix work and travels. According to Matt, it does not seem easy to find a job in Australia. It is surely easier in Information Technology. Situation is getting better in France, even if it's hard to find something really exciting.

I would like to develop something new, communicate, travel, meet customers, manage a team, make some presentations, learn by training or conference, teach,... Too many things to start, sure I will get two or three of this points. But I also want to change my activities, don't want to get stuck with something for 10 years!

Santa Claus? I got a request...

iChat and... party

You must use or know at least one Instant Messaging (IM) program, don't you? MSN messenger, Yahoo Messenger, AIM (AOL Instant Messenger), ICQ for the oldies...

As you know, I no only use that stinking Windows. And on a Mac everything, works of course, but is also nice and pretty. This weekend I tried iChat, the Apple Instant Messenging. But I know nobody around me except a few friends have a Mac, so they won't use iChat. That's why I needed something to get my friends contacts on the cool iChat interface (picture above). And I found it! It's based on the Jabber protocol, a cool stuff too. Psi is an Instant messenging software allowing you to bring many different IM on the same software. Actually I'm using iChat software, with a Jabber interface offered by Psi (that I don't need anymore) to get my MSN contacts. Yeah, I don't understand neither. Wicked!

The other thing I wanted to tell you is that I went to a party yesterday. The first for many weeks... It was a colleague's house party (TomPap for some of you who knows him). But I was so confused to see every body coming in couples with their small children... I wasn't really expecting a student party, lot of drinks, dancing, laughing, like we used to have in Wollongong. But I wasn't expecting that too. Am I still a student? Yes, normally, until january. I don't think I should go to this kind of party, not really interesting when you are still single:

- Hi, nice to meet you!
- I'm married, fuck off!

Anyway I was glad to talk a bit and see my friend's new flat. Thank you Tom!

Don't forget... and shut up.

Last monday was the 5th anniversary of 9/11, the fall of the World Trade Center (WTC) towers and the attack on the Pentagone. There has been quite a buzz about it on the web, many blogs unearthed the topic that have been abandoned, at least by the non-american nations. Like everybody, I heard of the Michael Moore's movie Fahrenheit 9/11 (that I haven't watched though) suspecting that the government let this terrorist attack happen...

And I found something really interesting, a video, from a very young guy, 22 years old, who brought matter to express a conspiracy theory. The movie Loose Change, freely available on the web (I personaly downloaded it with BitTorrent, a Peer2Peer, bandwidth-friendly software), is well detailed and really estonishing. Since then I watched another one, I visited some weird websites, dealing with deep conspiracy point of views.

All this affair reminds me the day I watched JFK, the Oliver Stone's movie about John F. Kennedy assassination. Who still believe that Lee Harvey Oswald killed the US president in 1963? Who? Will the word "conspiracy" mean "truth" in 40 years? What is becoming democracy and freedom the United States preached?

Today people say "I will never forget that day" or simple things like this. I think that our role is, not only to remember, but to unravel the truth. Don't you want to know what really happened that day? Why some explosions were heard and felt at level 7 and 8 of the WTC, after the planes crashed? Why haven't the pentagon suffered from wing damage after the Boeing 757 crashed? What happened to flight 93?

However there are also some defenders of the official version. And they got some points. For instance, fahrenheit 9/11 has been heavily criticized. Another website states that a 757 truly crashed in the Pentagon. What to believe? I no longer have an idea. What I know is that the United States (and every rich country, at least) tightly control information. Media are no longer independent as they can only feed you with what the government feeds them. And as french political elections are coming soon, we know that people can easily be manipulated with fear, or even worse, terror...

Worldwide explanations

As you all know, we lost 2/1 versus Italy during the Soccer World Cup final. And our best player, Zidane, got a headache near the end of the match. The reason for this headache, as well as the reason for Materazzi's chest pain, was unexplained at that time. But each country finally found something, an non disputable explanation or point of view, revealing the truth...

Watch ^^
[ The page is in french, you should click on the links starting with "...Vu par les Allemands", "The German point of view" ]

About the american point of view, you have to know that Materazzi, the italian fake player has, just before this, insulted Zidane when he told him "You all deserve that, you all muslim mother f*****, terrorist mother f*****!" But I'm sure, you are all aware of this...

Two days ago a match facing France versus Italy took place for the European soccer cup (in 2008) qualifications. And the good news is that we crushed them 3/1! (Materazzi and Zidane were not playing...)

A small soccer game before leaving.

Do you like Veggies?

You'll never guess what I discovered this week end... I was stunned by this news and I can hardly think normally now. Not really a different from before. I was surfing on the web, if not as usual, and on I found a link on something called Marmite, which comes from the same word in french meaning an earthenware cooking container (thanks Oxford Dictionary). But I can't remember the website that talks about it, damn it!

Anyway, you will see what I discovered and maybe you'll have the same reaction. Look at the video, that's hilarious. As you notice, Marmite is a clone of the aussie Vegemite, that means that disgusting yeast extract... (I'm sure Matty will buy some Marmite to compare the two ^^). Here comes a second ad. And normally now, you ask me why I am so stunned about an english vegemite product. Simply because I was convinced that Vegemite was something exclusive from Australia! But they took that from their native England! That's outrageous! Isn't it? Ok it's not. But now I need to find something excepting animals which can be found only in Australia... Let's look over there...
